WEEE Recycling

Meubles believes strongly in the preservation of the environment and proudly implements The European Union (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulations 2014 - S.I. No. 149 of 2014 which are more commonly known as the WEEE Regulations.

This regulation requires us to charge customers a future recycling cost for certain electrical items purchased from us. All relevant charges (if any) are included in the features of each product. Many of the products we sell have no recycling charge.

Under this regulation, we are also required to accept your unwanted small kitchen appliances such as toasters, kettles, blenders, food processors, and coffee machines when bought for a one for one, like for like basis.

To return a small kitchen appliance to us for future recycling, simply call in-store with your old item to our Homewares Department and a member of staff will happily take it from you.

Please note that we use An Post Express Delivery Service and Fastway for delivery of small items that are purchased online. An Post nor Fastway offer an old appliance collection service but small appliances may be returned to our stores or to any WEEE Recycling Centre.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and waste batteries must never be placed in your waste disposal or recycling bins. WEEE is taken back free of charge at electrical retail outlets on a one-for-one like-for-like basis.

Local authority civic amenity facilities also take back WEEE and waste batteries free of charge. WEEE and waste battery recycling is free.
