E-Commerce Product Copywriter

O'Keeffes Group is an expanding, dynamic organisation with multiple retail brands. Its brands include Petmania, Meubles and The Wine Centre. As part of its ongoing development, it is expanding its reach with the development of bespoke e-commerce websites for its various business units and the enhancement of its retail brands. To facilitate this expansion, it is recruiting for an experienced Product Copywriter with an ability to write for Online & Offline sales channels. The person will need to be able to understand the company’s target markets and its objectives and create winning content to sell to customers both online and offline.

The position is based at its Kilkenny City Headquarters and will report directly to the Head of Online & Marketing Manager Meubles and The Wine Centre.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to

  • The writing of product descriptions for the web and in-store across furniture, homewares and alcoholic drinks with the aim to deliver on set daily targets
  • Write clear and compelling copy to describe products accurately and entice customers to purchase
  • Apply SEO principles to maximise the reach of each product with our target audience
  • Ensure all product descriptions have the correct spelling, measurements and proper use of grammar
  • Update product descriptions as needed both online and offline
  • Liaise with buyers and suppliers to collate product information, images and specifications to create outstanding content that will create sales
  • Creation and maintenance of weekly blogs to engage with customers
  • Craft sales pitch emails to pique potential customers attention
  • Graphic design including resizing imagery, development of promotional banners, landing pages, retargeting and email campaigns
  • Collaborate with graphic designers as required to create appealing graphics that complement the product text both online and offline
  • Product photography including photographing products and working with external photographers
  • Management of online merchandising as needed
  • Work in conjunction with the marketing and buying teams to ensure that all product launch and promotional dates are met

Requirements

  • 3+ years previous experience in a similar role with a proven track record
  • Honours degree in journalism, communications, PR or marketing
  • Portfolio of published articles and websites
  • First class written and proofreading skills
  • Advanced online copywriting skills and knowledge of best practice for writing for the web
  • Excellent editorial understanding and visual awareness
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems e.g. WordPress, Magento
  • Experience with Adobe’s Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Indesign, Illustrator)
  • The ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately with a strong eye for detail
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to rapid change
  • Have a strong sense of commercial, brand and technical awareness, whilst keeping up to date with current trends
  • A good knowledge of furniture, interiors and alcohol terminology
  • Must be fluent in English both written and oral
  • A self starter and pro-active problem solver with a drive to achieve results
  • Ability to work constructively in a team environment where brainstorming and collaboration are standard

As a Meubles Sales Associate, your role will involve impressing our clients with your professionalism, sales ability, your desire to aid them in making the perfect choice for their home and your commitment to delivering the level of quality service people have come to expect from Meubles. 

It is essential you have current sales experience plus excellent spoken and written English. An interest in interiors would be an advantage. You must be flexible and enjoy interacting with people. Full product training will be given.
